NTCOSS cost of living fact sheets

October 13-19 is anti-poverty week in Australia, which provides an opportunity to shine a light on the living situations of the poorest amongst us.

According to the NTCOSS Cost of Living factsheets, released this week, people on low incomes and people living remotely are doing it the toughest right now.

The fact sheets focus on three areas: food, housing and transport and describe not only the extent of the problem and comparisons of 2023 and 2024, but recommendations for federal and local governments to alleviate the strain on the hardest hit by an increase in the cost of living in the NT.

Anglicare NT commends and supports the work of NTCOSS in describing the the cost of living realities for housing, food and transport. We echo their recommendations for both federal and local governments.
